Hoax Kristiani: Big Bang = "Jadilah Terang" dalam Kitab Kejadian ?

Alkitab sangat jelas menyebut tentang adanya peristiwa bigbang? Alkitab khususnya kitab genesis memakai istilah
"Jadilah Terang" untuk menyebutkan peristiwa bigbang itu.

Genesis 1:3 KJV; And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Berfirmanlah
Allah: "Jadilah terang" Lalu terang itu jadi.

Berkatalah (memberi perintah) Tuhan “ Jadilah Bigbang” Lalu Bigbang itu jadi.



Jadilah Terang ini merupakan ungkapan kiasan yang berbentuk bahasa fenomenal tentang KEKUATAN FISIK (energi fisik) dan CAHAYA yang terbentuk setelah telur kosmik (singularitas) menetas (even bigbang). Telur kosmik atau singularitas bigbang dalam Alkitab disebutkan dengan kiasan yang berbentuk bahasa fenomenal juga, yakni dengan sebutan "Bumi belum berbentuk". dari frase ini, fenomenanya adalah, dimensi massa atau materi sudah terbentuk, tapi tanpa bentuk. Ini adalah massa atau materi primordial, jadi bumi di sini bukan bermakna sebagai planet bumi, melainkan sebuah massa atau materi primordial atau telur kosmic yang akan menetas yang di sebut dengan istilah "jadilah terang" itu nantinya.

menurut para ahli bahwa titik singularitas bigbang tidak dapat di lihat oleh mata manusia, karena ukurannya nyaris bervolume nol. Itulah yang menyebabkan, kenapa Nabi Musa menyebutnya dengan istilah "bumi belum berbentuk" Bahwa sesungguhnya bumi atau massa primordial itu telah terbentuk alias telah jadi, namun karena di mampatkan oleh Tuhan sampai bervolume nyaris nol, maka sewaktu Tuhan memberikan penglihatan tentang proses penciptaan alam semesta itu, nabi musa tidak mampu melihat massa primordial itu. Andai saja Nabi Musa melihat massa atau materi primordial itu, sudah tentu Nabi Musa akan dapat menjelaskan bagaimana bentuk wujudnya, apakah seperti batu atau seperti kepala manusia, atau seperti gumpalan awan atau seperti apa saja sesuatu yang sudah di kenal oleh Nabi Musa saat dia hidup. Mungkin daripada harus bingung, lalu Nabi Musa menuliskan apa adanya, bahwa massa alias materi primordial yang telah terbentuk itu, hanya disebut dengan istilah “bumi belum berbentuk” dan ditegaskan kembali oleh Nabi Musa dengan kata “kosong”. Bahwa dari pandangan mata Nabi musa, materi yang tanpa bentuk itu, seperti kosong,alias tidak kelihatan. Hal ini juga dijelaskan oleh Nabi Jeremy pada

RUANG PRIMORDIAL adalah ruangwaktu dari alam dunia (ruangwaktu fisik) yang paling awal, yang diciptakan oleh Tuhan setelah penciptaan ruangwaktu rohani (surga). Pada kitab Genesis ruang primordial itu disebut “The Deep”, dan pada kitab Jeremy 4:23 disebut “heavens”. The deep adalah rumah multiverse, yaitu tempat Allah menciptakan dan
menempatkan universe-universe (multiverse).

Okey...sekarang anda telah memahami penjelasan saya tentang frase bumi belum berbentuk. Sekarang saya ingin menjelaskan bahwa kejadian 1:1 dalam Alkitab itu, tidak lain adalah sebuah tema penciptaan yang di tulis oleh nabi Musa di awal kisahnya tentang proses penciptaan alam semesta. Bahwa kejadian 1:1 yang berbunyi " pada mulanya Allah menciptakan langit dan bumi" itu menyatakan kepada kita tentang Tema penciptaan alam semesta. bahwa dalam kalimat itu, Nabi Musa memberi informasikan kepada kita tentang awal mula Allah menciptakan ruang alam semesta, yang diwakili oleh kata "langit" dan menciptakan massa alias materi yang di wakili oleh kata "bumi" dalam kebersamaannya pada "waktu" yang diwakili oleh kata "pada mulanya". Setelah Nabi Musa mengawali ceritanya kemudian dia menceritakan rinciannya.

Proses pengembangan alam semesta di dalam Alkitab disebut dengan "Penguluran langit ", Kenapa disebut dengan penguluran langit ?

Pada saat materi primordial masih berupa Titik singularitas, ia sangat tegang, baik tegang dalam tekanan, karena tekanan yang ada di dalamnya sangat dasyat. tegang dalam energi, karena energi di dalamnya sangat dasyat maupun tegang dalam massa, karena sesungguhnya massa yang di miliki oleh titik singularitas itu sangat besar, namun di paksa oleh Tuhan agar menjadi kecil yang bervolume nyaris nol. Kemudian setelah itu singularitas tersebut diregangkan atau ditarik kesegala arah, dipaksa agar mengembang dengan ukuran yang jauh lebih besar dari ukuran massa aslinya sebelum dimampatkan. ketika titik singularitas ini di regangkan, maka secara otomatis, mereka mengalami pengembangan.

Jadi pada awal penciptaan universe kita hanya ada titik singularitas bigbang yang muncul di dalam ruang primordial (the Deep), kemudian titik singularitas itu tiba-tiba di regangkan sehingga mengembang......dan lalu memproduksi materi dan anti materi dan energi fisik, hingga kemudian membentuk materi terang dan materi gelap. Materi-materi yang berbeda ini, kemudian di pisahkan. Selain materi terang dan materi gelap, even bigbang juga memproduksi MATERI PENYUSUN RUANG (semacam atom ruang) UNIVERSE KITA dan menyebarkannya pada ruang primordial / rumah multiverse. Selain atom ruangwaktu, bumi (materi) pengisi ruang tersebut yaitu materi terang dan materi gelap tadi, juga disebar mengikuti penyebaran atom ruang universe atau proses pengembangan volum ruang universe yang terbentuk itu.

jarak terkini dan terjauh dari ujung sisi ruang alam semesta yang satu ke ujung sisi yang lainnya ( catatan: misal kita menganggap ruang alam semesta bagaikan ruang dalam bola, atau balon, maka luas balon dari balon alam semesta itu adalah selalu berubah-ubah) adalah jarak atau diameter dimensi ruang alam semesta alias langit. beberapa ayat Alkitab tentang terjadinya penguluran (penambahan) radius gelembung langit (universe) yang dahulu di awali oleh peregangan titik singularitas bigbang ketika "jadilah terang" itu terjadi, di antaranya:

Yesaya 45:12 KJV; Akulah yang menjadikan bumi dan yang menciptakan manusia diatasnya, tangan-Kulah yang mengulurkankan langit, dan Akulah yang memberi perintah kepada seluruh tentaranya.

Yesaya 40:22 KJV; Dia yang bertakhta di atas bulatan bumi yang penduduknya seperti belalang; Dia yang mengulurkankan langit seperti kain dan memasangnya seperti kemah kediaman!

Yesaya 48:13 KJV; Tangan-Ku juga meletakkan dasar bumi, dan tangan kanan-Ku mengulurkan langit. Ketika
Aku menyebut namanya, semuanya bermunculan.

Yesaya 51:13 KJV; Sehingga engkau melupakan TUHAN yang menjadikan engkau, yang mengulurkankan terus-menerus langit, dan meletakkan dasar bumi, sehingga engkau terus gentar sepanjang hari terhadap kepanasan amarah orang penganiaya, apabila ia bersiap-siap memusnahkan? Dimanakah gerangan kepanasan amarah orang penganiaya itu?

Jeremy 10:12 KJV; Tuhanlah yang menjadikan bumi dengan kekuatan-Nya, yang menegakkan dunia dengan kebijaksanaan-Nya, dan yang mengulurkankan langit dengan akal budi-Nya.

Zakharia 12:1 KJV; Ucapan ilahi. Firman TUHAN tentang Israel: Demikianlah firman TUHAN yang mengulurkan terus-menerus langit dan yang meletakkan dasar bumi dan yang menciptakan roh dalam diri manusia:

Dalam Yahudi-Kristen, yang di pisahkan oleh Tuhan adalah dimensi massa atau materi. Dalam Alkitab
di sebutkan bahwa Tuhan memisahkan terang dengan gelap.

Genesis 1:4 KJV; Allah melihat bahwa terang itu baik, lalu dipisahkan-Nyalah terang itu dari gelap.

Pada ayat di atas istilah terang dan gelap juga merupakan ungkapan kiasan yang berbentuk bahasa fenomenal. Kata terang di situ adalah untuk menyebutkan materi yang dapat di lihat yaitu materi terang. sementara kata gelap di situ bermakna sebagai materi yang sulit di lihat oleh mata yaitu materi gelap. kedua materi ini di hasilkan oleh kejadian bigbang. Selain antara materi terang dan materi gelap. pada materi terang juga terjadi pemisahan yang dalam hal ini adalah pada materi terang yang membentuk setiap tata surya dalam setiap galaksi. Bahwa dalam setiap bahan pembentukan tata surya, antara bahan yang akan membentuk terang dengan bahan yang akan membentuk bagian yang gelap juga masih bersatu. kedua bahan ini berbeda, makanya harus di pisahkan. Bahan yang satu setelah berpisah kemudian membentuk sebuah bintang yang menjadi pusat tata surya, bagian yang menjadi bintang ini menghasilkan cahaya sendiri, karena itu di sebut cahaya atau terang. sementara bagian yang tidak dapat menghasilkan cahaya sendiri di sebut Gelap, karena jika tanpa adanya bagian yang terang tadi, suasana mereka tetap gelap seperti malam hari. Bagian yang di sebut gelap ini adalah planet, satelit, komet dan lain-lain.

Lalu Tuhan menampakkan benda-benda langit yang telah lama jadi yaitu bintang-bintang, juga Tuhan menampakkan benda-benda langit yang berguna sebagai lampu penerang bagi makhluk planet bumi. benda ini adalah matahari dan bulan, yang terbentuk bersamaan dengan di mulainya pembentukan planet bumi kita. Pada planet bumi, proses pembentukannya di awali dengan pembentukan cakrawala atau atmosfer. seperti yang di sebutkan
pada kitab Kejadian 1:6 berikut ini:

Genesis 1:6 KJV; Berfirmanlah Allah: Jadilah cakrawala di tengah segala air untuk memisahkan air dari air.

Meskipun bulan tidak dapat menghasilkan cahaya, namun karena cahaya matahari yang di pantul bulan, menyebabkan bulan di sebut oleh Nabi Musa sebagai lampu bagi makhluk planet bumi pada saat malam hari. Dan kenyataannya memang demikian, terutama bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di negara gurun seperti di timur tengah, yang keadaan alamnya terbuka, di saat bulan purnama hampir seluruh permukaan tanah benar-benar terlihat terang. Karena itu ketika Nabi Musa menyebutkan bulan sebagai penerang meskipun sumber cahayanya dari matahari, kita tidak dapat dengan serta merta menyalahkan Nabi musa, karena kenyataannya memang demikian, bahwa bulan memang menjadi lampu penerang di malam hari.

Berikut ini ayat-ayat Kejadian yang menceritakan tentang Tuhan menjadikan benda-benda langit tampak dari permukaan planet bumi. Dan perhatikan tulisan "cakrawala (firmament)" yang di cetak tebal. Pada ayat ini, semua perbuatan Tuhan di fokuskan kepada Cakrawala (firmament) atau atmosfer planet bumi.

Genesis 1:14 KJV; Berfirmanlah Allah: "Jadilah benda-benda penerang pada cakrawala untuk memisahkan siang dari malam. Biarlah benda-benda penerang itu menjadi tanda yang menunjukkan masa-masa yang tetap dan hari-hari dan tahun-tahun,

Genesis 1:15 KJV; dan sebagai penerang pada cakrawala biarlah benda-benda itu menerangi bumi." Dan jadilah demikian.

Genesis 1:16 KJV; Maka Allah menjadikan kedua benda penerang yang besar itu, yakni yang lebih besar untuk menguasai siang dan yang lebih kecil untuk menguasai malam, dan menjadikan juga bintang-bintang.

Genesis 1:17 KJV; Allah menaruh semuanya itu di cakrawala untuk menerangi bumi,

Genesis 1:18 KJV; dan untuk menguasai siang dan malam, dan untuk memisahkan terang dari gelap. Allah melihat bahwa semuanya itu baik.

Sesungguhnya ayat di atas bermakna sebagai proses Tuhan memperlihatkan benda langit. Kenapa demikian? Tentu saja karena sewaktu proses pembentukan benua Pangaea dan samudra Planthasa pada Genesis 1:9-10

Genesis 1: 9 KJV; Berfirmanlah Allah: "Hendaklah segala air yang di bawah langit berkumpul pada satu tempat, sehingga kelihatan yang kering." Dan jadilah demikian.

Genesis 1:10 KJV; Lalu Allah menamai yang kering itu darat (Benua Pangaea), dan kumpulan air itu dinamai-Nya laut ( Samudra Planthasa). Allah melihat bahwa semuanya itu baik.

Pada saat itu, permukaan planet bumi baru mulai mengeras, namun masih lunak, karena panas dan tekanan dari dalam perut planet bumi, akibatnya banyak permukaan planet bumi yang tertembus dan menjadi bolong. melalui lobang itu, lava panas dan asap serta gas-gas keluar, lava yang berbentuk uap lama-kelamaan membeku menjadi partikel debu. karena lobang yang terbentuk sangat banyak hampir di seluruh permukaan benua pangaea, akibatnya kabut asap dan debu yang di hasilkan juga sangat banyak. kabut asap dan debu yang ada di atmosfer ini akhirnya menutupi atau menyelimuti planet bumi, akibatnya bola matahari dan benda-benda langit yang lain tidak kelihatan dari permukaan planet bumi. namun begitu, permukaan planet bumi dan atmosfer bumi masih terang, karena defraksi sinar matahari oleh asap dan debu itu.

Pada masa ini bintang matahari masih muda, intensitas cahaya dan sinar UV yang di pancarkannya sangat tinggi sehingga mampu menembus kabut asap dan debu itu. dan juga karena pada lapisan atmosfer bumi terdapat tudung air sebagai akibat pemisahan antara air yang ada di atas atmosfer dengan yang ada di bawah atmosfer atau di permukaan planet bumi, seperti yang di sebutkan dalam kitab Genesis, berikut ini:

Genesis 1:6 KJV; Berfirmanlah Allah: "Jadilah cakrawala di tengah segala air untuk memisahkan air dari air."

Cakrawala atau atmosfer, pada bumi purba banyak mengandung gas-gas ringan seperti xeon, argon, neon dan lain-lain. Gas-gas itu umumnya berada cukup tinggi dari permukaan laut. Uap-uap air TERDISVERSI pada gas-gas ringan tersebut sehingga uap air tetap seperti menggantung di udara. Uap-uap air itulah yang disebut air yang ada diatas cakrawala (atmosfer) pada genesis 1:17 dibawah ini, sementara air yang ada dibawah cakrawala (atmosfer) adalah lautan dipermukaan planet bumi:

Genesis 1:7 KJV; Maka Allah menjadikan cakrawala dan Ia memisahkan air yang ada di bawah cakrawala itu dari air yang ada di atasnya. Dan jadilah demikian.

Transalate Sains: Maka Tuhan menciptakan atmosfer planet bumi, dan memisahkan air (H2O) yang ada
dibawah atmosfer (lautan) itu, dari air (H2O) yang ada di atas atmosfer.

Dengan adanya lapisan uap air di atmosfer bumi. Terjadilah semacam efek rumah kaca. Maka pada masa itu atmosfer bumi dalam keadaan hangat, sehingga tumbuhan akan dapat tumbuh kelak, seperti yang di sebutkan pada kitab Genesis 1:11

Genesis 1:11 KJV; Berfirmanlah Allah: "Hendaklah tanah menumbuhkan tunas-tunas muda, tumbuh-tumbuhan yang berbiji, segala jenis pohon buah-buahan yang menghasilkan buah yang berbiji, supaya ada tumbuh-tumbuhan di bumi."
Dan jadilah demikian.

meskipun bola matahari sebagai sumber sinar UV untuk proses fotosintesa tumbuhan itu tidak kelihatan, namun karena efek rumah kaca akibat lapisan uap air di atmosfer serta karena tumbuhan yang di ciptakan ini merupakan tumbuhan purba yang di rancang oleh Tuhan agar dapat bertahan pada lingkungan ekstrim seperti pada masa itu. Dalam kitab Raja Daud yaitu Mazmur, juga di jelaskan tentang salahsatu perbuatan tangan Allah terhadap cakrawala alias atmosfer planet bumi, yang mengatakan bahwa " cakrawala (atmosfer) memberitakan pekerjaan tangan Tuhan". bahwa Tuhan pernah membersihkan cakrawala atau atmosfer planet kita.

Mazmur 19:1 KJV; Untuk pemimpin biduan. Mazmur Daud. Langit menceritakan kemuliaan Allah, dan cakrawala memberitakan pekerjaan tangan-Nya.

Dari Mazmur 19:1 di atas, kita mengetahui dengan jelas bahwa yang di sebut dengan cakrawala jelas hanya menunjukan tentang atmosfer planet bumi saja, jadi tidak menunjukan sampai kepada langit ruang antar bintang atau ruang alam semesta, karena ruang langit atau ruang alam semesta sendiri juga di sebutkan pada ayat yang sama. Dengan menyebutkan bahwa langit menceritakan kemuliaan Tuhan, Hal ini benar demikian, karena seperti yang kita ketahui bahwa di langit terdapat miliaran bintang-bintang maupun galaksi serta benda lainnya. Jadi hal itu benar-benar menunjukan betapa Tuhan sangat mulia.

Dan mengenai lapisan uap air atau tudung uap air ini. Lapisan uap air inilah yang di sebutkan oleh Tuhan sebagai tingkap langit (langit dekat permukaan bumi/atmosfer) yang menjadi sumber air hujan yang turun selama 40 hari 40 malam yang mengawali air bah di jaman Nabi Nuh itu.

Dan....kembali kepada lobang lava tadi. lama kelamaan, karena lobang ini terus memuntahkan isi perut planet bumi, akhirnya terbentuklah gunung dan bukit seperti yang kita saksikan sekarang ini. Jadi pada dasarnya, gunung dan bukit yang ada pada seluruh daratan planet bumi ini, terbentuk pada waktu proses penciptaan benua pangaea...(Genesis 1:9-10)

Okey...pada Alkitab, di sebutkan bahwa Tuhan menciptakan Alam semesta hingga manusia planet bumi, selama 6 hari berturut-turut. Kata hari di situ adalah bermakna "Tahapan". Jadi sebenarnya Tuhan menciptakan Alam semesta hingga manusia planet bumi adalah 6 tahapan. Dalam satu tahapan penciptaan berlangsung sangat lama. Dalam 2 Petrus 3:8 di sebutkan, bahwa:

“Akan tetapi, saudara-saudaraku yang kekasih, yang satu ini tidak boleh kamu lupakan, yaitu, bahwa di hadapan Tuhan satu hari sama seperti seribu (Banyak) tahun dan seribu (banyak) tahun sama seperti satu hari”.

Jadi ini ternyata sangat cocok dengan teori relativitas waktu, Einstein. Maka dari itu, sangat jelas bagi kita bahwa yang di maksud dengan "hari Penciptaan" itu tidak lain adalah suatu tahapan, bahwa dalam satu tahapan pada proses penciptaan itu, sesungguhnya berlangsung pada waktu yang sangat lama. Hal ini bisa berlangsung jutaan atau miliaran tahun. Tentu saja dalam satu tahapan penciptaan itu, tidak mempunyai lama waktu yang sama, dengan tahapan yang lainnya, namun sebaliknya yaitu berbeda-beda, misal bisa saja pada tahapan penciptaan tumbuhan hanya berlangsung jutaan tahun, namun tidak demikian dengan tahapan penciptaan planet bumi, yang mungkin lebih lama dari waktu yang di perlukan untuk menjadikan tumbuhan tersebut.

Lalu pemberitahuan 6 tahapan itu, di implementasi melalui penglihatan kepada Nabi Musa selama 6 hari berturut-turut. Itulah sebabnya di dalam Alkitab di sebutkan adanya pagi dan petang, karena sesungguhnya pagi dan petang yang di sebutkan itu adalah pagi dan petang dari hari di mana penglihatan itu di berikan kepada Nabi Musa.

TENTANG TERANG DAN GELAP YANG DIPISAHKAN OLEH TUHAN

Menurut kepercayaan agama Kristen dan Yahudi. proses penciptaan yang terdapat pada Alkitab perjanjian lama khususnya kitab Kejadian itu adalah hanya tentang kisah penciptaan " Alam semesta kita ", jadi bukan merupakan kisah tentang penciptaan keseluruhan dari tempat "keber-adaan yang bernama dunia" ini. Itu hanyalah kisah pembentukan alam semesta kita yang bermula dari kejadian Bigbang, yang diciptakan oleh Tuhan pada Ruang keber-adaan yang bernama dunia ini, yang dalam istilah Kitab Kejadian berbahasa Indonesia disebut samudra raya ( the deep ). dari sini, adalah dimungkinkan bahwa bukan hanya alam semesta kita saja yang diciptakan oleh Tuhan pada ruang "keber-adaan yang bernama dunia" ini atau yang disebut "samudra raya" itu, tapi juga terdapat lebih dari satu alam semesta, hanya saja Tuhan tidak memberitahukan proses penciptaan alam semesta yang lain kepada manusia planet bumi.

Kejadian 1:3 Berfirmanlah Allah: "Jadilah terang." Lalu terang itu jadi.



Jadilah Terang! ( Let there be light ) adalah kalimat yang menunjukan bahwa Tuhan memerintahkan agar bigbang yang merupakan cikal-bakal alam semesta kita ini terjadi. Kata terang yang terjadi merupakan penanda bahwa proses Bigbang yang mengembang itu mulai terjadi sampai kepada proses pembentukkan atom-atom sampai kepada terciptanya bintang-bintang dalam setiap galaksi. Jadi Terang atau cahaya disitu benar-benar bermakna harafiah, yaitu cahaya yang dihasilkan oleh kejadian bigbang itu sendiri. Setelah cahaya yang terjadi dalam proses pembentukkan atom-atom sampai membentuk materi, kemudian materi-materi yang tercipta / terbentuk itu dipisahkan oleh Tuhan.

Kejadian 1:4 Allah melihat bahwa terang itu baik, lalu dipisahkan-Nya-lah TERANG itu dari GELAP

Terdapat beragam penjelasan dari para Ahli teologi gereja mengenai TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan oleh Tuhan dalam kitab kejadian. Ada yang mengatakan bahwa terang dan GELAP itu adalah untuk menyebutkan bagian bumi yang mendapat cahaya matahari dan bagian bumi yang tidak dapat cahaya matahari. Apakah hal ini benar? Sepertinya Ahli teologi yang berpendapat seperti ini adalah seorang yang gampang lupa, bahwa TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan itu adalah sama-sama tercipta pada proses penciptaan Alam semesta kita. Bukankah bahwa TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan itu SEBELUM dipisahkan dalam keadaan bersatu? Karena mereka BERBEDA, maka mereka harus dipisahkan! Lagipula Proses Cahaya matahari yang menyinari salah satu sisi bumi, bukanlah PROSES PEMISAHAN terang dan gelap, melainkan PROSES TERANG YANG DATANG kepada GELAP karena bumi dan benda lain disekitar matahari, sebelum matahari bersinar untuk pertama kalinya masih dalam keadaan gelap, namun tiba-tiba sisi mereka yang menghadap matahari berubah menjadi terang pada saat matahari mulai bersinar, hal inilah yang disebut PROSES CAHAYA YANG DATANG kepada GELAP. Jadi pendapat ahli teologi yang mengatakan bahwa TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan Tuhan itu sebagai terang dari Cahaya matahari yang menyinari sisi bumi yang menghadap kepada matahari dan gelap malam sisi bumi yang tidak menghadap kepada matahari, adalah pendapat yang keliru.

Ahli teologi gereja yang lain berpendapat bahwa TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan oleh Tuhan itu adalah proses pemisahan KEBAIKAN (TERANG) dan KEJAHATAN (gelap). Pendapat mereka ini didasari oleh alasan karena dahulu di surga terjadi pembangkangan sebagian malaikat yang dipimpin oleh malaikat Lucifer. Yang kelak di lemparkan oleh Tuhan ke dalam “dimensi keber-adaan yang disebut dunia” ini. Meskipun ini hampir dapat diterima oleh akal, tapi karena Kisah penciptaan alam semesta dalam kitab Kejadian itu hanyalah mengisahkan tentang PROSES PENCIPTAAN ALAM SEMESTA KITA, jelas hal itu tidak memiliki hubungan sama sekali dengan kisah kejadian di “dimensi keber-adaan yang bernama surga” lagipula, jika para ahli teologi gereja yang berpendapat seperti itu, benar-benar teliti. Bukankah masa sebelum sebagian malaikat itu membangkang, para malaikat pembangkang itu juga sama seperti malaikat yang lain? Bahwa mereka juga adalah malaikat baik / malaikat Terang? Sifat baik alias TERANG dari seluruh malaikat itulah yang menyatakan bahwa mereka (malaikat) itu SATU KESATUAN (sama), jadi sejak tercipta hingga masa sebelum membangkang, para malaikat pembangkang itu juga adalah malaikat BAIK / TERANG. Bukankah hal ini memiliki kontradiksi dengan kisah penciptaan dalam kitab Genesis, bahwa TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan oleh Tuhan dalam kitab Genesis itu adalah menunjukan BENTUK PERSATUAN dua hal yang yang berbeda, yang satu TERANG dan yang satu lagi GELAP. Karena mereka berbeda makanya dipisahkan!

Sebagai kesimpulan dari hal ini:

1. MALAIKAT Yang BAIK dan MALAIKAT PEMBANGKANG
Waktu sejak para malaikat itu diciptakan, sampai waktu sebelum sebagian dari malaikat itu membangkang. Sifat seluruh malaikat itu adalah baik (TERANG). Jadi bentuk persatuan mereka adalah PERSATUAN DALAM PERSAMAAN, yaitu memiliki sifat yang sama-sama baik.

2. TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan oleh Tuhan

Waktu sejak TERANG dan GELAP itu diciptakan, sampai waktu TERANG dan GELAP dipisahkan. Mereka telah berbeda. Jadi bentuk persatuan mereka adalah PERSATUAN DALAM PERBEDAAN, yaitu yang satu TERANG dan yang satunya lagi GELAP.

Karena bentuk PERSATUAN MALAIKAT, sebelum dipisahkan berbeda dengan bentuk PERSATUAN TERANG dan GELAP sebelum dan sesudah dipisahkan, maka dengan demikian klaim sebagian para ahli teologi gereja yang mengatakan bahwa TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan itu merupakan kisah tentang malaikat baik (TERANG) dan malaikat pembangkang / jahat / setan (GELAP) adalah keliru.

Jika demikian lantas apakah sebenarnya yang dimaksud dengan TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan oleh Tuhan dalam kisah penciptaan alam semesta berdasarkan Alkitab perjanjian lama, khususnya kitab genesis itu? Berikut ini penjelasan mengenai TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan oleh Tuhan dalam kisah penciptaan alam semesta menurut Saya (penulis).

TERANG dan GELAP merupakan ungkapan KIASAN. Dalam kisah penciptaan menurut Injil Perjanjian lama, yaitu pada kitab Genesis, disana KIASAN dari kata TERANG dan GELAP tersebut memiliki dua bentuk, yaitu kiasan yang berbentuk
BAHASA FENOMENAL dan Kiasan yang berbentuk BAHASA SIMBOLIS.

1. Kiasan yang berbentuk BAHASA FENOMENAL dari kata TERANG dan GELAP

Sesuatu yang dipisahkan oleh Allah yang disebut TERANG dan GELAP dari kejadian BIGBANG INJIL adalah mengenai MATERI TERANG dan MATERI GELAP, Materi terang dan gelap ini terbentuk oleh kejadian bigbang.

TERANG adalah MATERI
TERANG (Bahasa Fenomenal)
GELAP adalah MATERI GELAP / ENERGI GELAP (Bahasa Fenomenal).

Dalam peristiwa bigbang terciptalah materi, materi ini ada yang terang (dapat dilihat) dan ada yang gelap (tidak dapat dilihat).

A. TERANG adalah MATERI TERANG (Bahasa Fenomenal)

Yang dimaksudkan dengan materi terang disini adalah materi yang dapat dideteksi. Materi adalah setiap objek atau bahan yang membutuhkan ruang, yang jumlahnya diukur oleh suatu sifat yang disebut massa. Secara umum materi dapat juga didefinisikan sebagai sesuatu yang memiliki massa dan
menempati volume.

Materi tersusun atas molekul-molekul, dan molekul pun tersusun atas atom-atom. Materi umumnya dapat dijumpai dalam empat fase berbeda, yaitu padat, cairan, gas, dan plasma (wujud zat). Namun demikian, terdapat pula fase materi yang lain, seperti kondensat Bose-Einstein.

Kondensat Bose-Einstein adalah sebuah fase benda yang terbentuk oleh boson didinginkan ke suhu yang mendekati nol mutlak. Kondensat pertama dibuat oleh Eric Cornell dan Carl Wieman pada 1995 di Universitas Colorado Boulder, menggunakan gas atom rubidium yang didinginkan sampai 170 nano Kelvin (nK). Dalam kondisi tersebut, sebagian
besar atom jatuh ke keadaan kuantum terendah.

Kondensat Bose-Einstein terkenal oleh orang awam sebagai suatu fluida suhu sangat rendah dengan sifat yang aneh, seperti dengan spontan mengalir keluar dari wadahnya. Efek ini adalah konsekuensi dari mekanika kuantum, yang menyatakan bahwa sistem hanya dapat mendapatkan energi dalam langkah terpisah. Sekarang, bila sebuah sistem dalam keadaan suhu sangat rendah di mana dia dalam keadaan energi terendahnya, dia tidak lagi dapat mengurangi energinya, juga tidak dengan gesekan. Oleh karena itu, tanpa gesekan, fluida akan mudah menolak gravitasi karena adhesi antara fluida dan tembok wadah, dan ia akan membentuk posisi yang paling menguntungkan, misal, ke seluruh wadah.

B. GELAP

I. GELAP adalah MATERI GELAP (Bahasa Fenomenal)

Materi gelap adalah materi yang tidak dapat dideteksi dari radiasi yang dipancarkan atau penyerapan radiasi yang datang ke materi tersebut, tetapi kehadirannya dapat dibuktikan dari efek gravitasi materi-materi yang tampak seperti bintang dan galaksi. Perkiraan tentang banyaknya materi di dalam alam semesta berdasarkan efek gravitasi selalu menunjukkan bahwa sebenarnya ada jauh lebih banyak materi daripada materi yang dapat diamati secara langsung. Terlebih lagi, adanya materi gelap dapat menyelesaikan banyak ketidakkonsistenan dalam teori dentuman dahsyat.

Sebagian besar massa di alam semesta dipercaya berada dalam bentuk ini. Menentukan sifat dari materi gelap juga dikenal sebagai masalah materi gelap atau masalah hilangnya massa, dan merupakan salah satu masalah penting dalam kosmologi modern.

Pertanyaan tentang adanya materi gelap mungkin tampak tidak relevan dengan keberadaan kita di bumi. Akan tetapi, ada atau tidaknya materi gelap ini dapat menentukan takdir terakhir dari alam semesta. Kita mengetahui bahwa sekarang alam semesta mengalami pengembangan karena cahaya dari benda langit yang jauh menunjukkan adanya pergeseran merah. Banyaknya materi biasa yang terlihat di alam semesta tidaklah cukup untuk membuat gravitasi menghentikan pengembangan, dan dengan demikian pengembangan akan berlanjut selamanya tanpa adanya materi gelap. Pada prinsipnya, jumlah materi gelap yang cukup di alam semesta dapat menyebabkan pengembangan alam semesta berhenti, atau kebalikannya (yang akhirnya membawa kita pada Big Crunch). Pada prakteknya, sekarang banyak anggapan bahwa gerakan-gerakan alam semesta didominasi oleh komponen lainnya, energi gelap.

II. GELAP adalah ENERGI GELAP (Bahasa Fenomenal)

Disamping materi gelap dalam kosmologi juga terdapat energi gelap adalah suatu bentuk hipotesis dari energi yang mengisi seluruh ruang dan memiliki tekanan negatif yang kuat. Menurut teori relativitas umum, efek dari adanya tekanan negatif secara kualitatif serupa dengan memiliki gaya pada skala besar yang bekerja secara berlawanan terhadap gravitasi. Menggunakan efek seperti itu sekarang merupakan cara yang sering dilakukan untuk menjelaskan pengamatan mengenai pengembangan alam semesta yang dipercepat dan juga adanya bagian besar dari massa yang hilang di alam semesta.

Dua bentuk energi gelap yang diusulkan adalah konstanta kosmologi, suatu energi yang kerapatannya tetap dan secara homogen mengisi ruang, dan quintessence, suatu medan dinamis yang kepadatan energinya dapat berubah dalam ruang dan waktu. Membedakan antara keduanya memerlukan pengukuran berketelitian tinggi dari pengembangan alam semesta untuk dapat mengerti bagaimana kecepatan pengembangan berubah terhadap waktu. Laju pengembangan ini bergantung pada parameter persamaan keadaan kosmologi. Mengukur persamaan keadaan dari energi gelap adalah salah satu usaha besar dalam kosmologi observasional.

2. Kiasan yang berbentuk BAHASA

SIMBOLIS dan berbentuk BAHASA FENOMENAL dari kata TERANG dan GELAP yang dipisahkan tersebut.

TERANG adalah Kebaikan (bahasa Simbolis) atau TIDAK MERUSAK (bahasa fenomenal)
GELAP adalah Keburukan (bahasa simbolis) atau DAPAT MERUSAK (bahasa fenomenal)

A. TERANG adalah PARTIKEL BAIK YAITU YANG TIDAK MERUSAK ( MATERI ) (Bahasa Fenomenal)

Dalam kejadian Bigbang Alkitab, ungkapan kiasan dari kata TERANG dan GELAP yang berbentuk bahasa simbolis menunjukan tentang materi dan anti materi. Materi adalah segala sesuatu yang dapat kita inderakan dengan panca indera kita.

B. GELAP adalah PARTIKEL JAHAT YAITU YANG DAPAT MERUSAK ( ANTI MATERI ) (Bahasa Fenomenal)

Anti materi adalah sesuatu yang berlawanan atau bersifat anti atau merusak terhadap partikel materi, karena itu sangat riskan bagi MATERI jika disekitarnya terdapat partikel anti materi. Jadi sifat partikel anti materi yang anti atau dapat merusak partikel materi itulah yang menyimbolkan bahwa Anti materi bersifat Jahat atau buruk. Dan dalam bahasa, sifat dan perbuatan jahat seringkali disebut sebagai sifat dan perbuatan gelap yaitu sifat dan perbuatan
yang berasal dari KUASA GELAP yakni setan.

Antimateri adalah materi yang terdiri dari antipartikel dari partikel yang menyusun materi biasa. Bila sebuah partikel dan antipartikelnya menyentuh satu sama lain, keduanya saling memusnahkan, artinya keduanya diubah menjadi partikel-partikel lain dengan energi yang sama menurut persamaan Einstein E=mc².

Antimateri tidak ditemukan secara alami di bumi, kecuali hanya dalam waktu sangat singkat dan dalam jumlah sangat sedikit (karena peluruhan radioaktif atau sinar kosmik).

Partikel antimateri adalah partikel sub-atom dengan sifat berlawanan dari partikel materi normal. Sebagai contoh, positron adalah setara dengan antipartikel dari elektron dan memiliki muatan positif. Ketika partikel dan antipartikel atau materi dengan antimateri bertemu, mereka musnah dan melepaskan sejumlah besar energi menurut persamaan terkenal Einstein E = mc2, di mana E sama dengan energi, m sama dengan massa, dan c adalah kecepatan cahaya.

Namun antimateri tidak didapati di alam semesta sekarang. Para ilmuwan tidak yakin mengapa. Satu teori mengatakan bahwa materi tercipta lebih awal daripada antimateri, sehingga setelah keduanya bertemu dan saling menghancurkan, yang tersisa adalah materi yang kemudian membentuk bintang-bintang, galaksi, dan bumi.

Fenomena antimateri pertama kali diprediksi pada tahun 1928 oleh fisikawan Inggris, Paul Dirac. Dialah yang pertama kali mengusulkan keberadaan antimateri ketika ia membuat turunan persamaan yang menjelaskan interaksi sebuah elektron dengan muatan negatif dan elektron dengan muatanan positif – itulah antipartikel. Prediksi tersebut kemudian dikonfirmasi dengan percobaan pada tahun 1932 oleh fisikawan Amerika Carl Anderson.

TENTANG PENAMAAN SIANG KEPADA TERANG DAN MALAM KEPADA GELAP

Kejadian 1:5 Dan Allah menamai TERANG itu SIANG, dan GELAP itu MALAM. Jadilah petang dan jadilah pagi, itulah hari pertama

Seperti yang telah diuraikan diatas bahwa, dalam kejadian bigbang terciptalah materi, yang dimulai dari sub-sub atom hingga membentuk sebuat atom yang banyak, suatu saat atom-atom yang banyak itu membentuk blok bangunan suatu unsur. Unsur-unsur yang terbentuk saling bereaksi membentuk membentuk senyawa-senyawa. Suatu saat senyawa-senyawa tersebut kemudian mengumpul membentuk kumpulan materi dan senyawa pembentuk system tata surya dalam setiap galaksi, tata surya yang terbentuk ini sangat banyak, kumpulan mereka membentuk sebuah galaksi. Dari sekian banyak galaksi yang terbentuk itu salahsatunya adalah galaksi kita yaitu galaksi bimasakti, galaksi ini memiliki miliaran bintang baik yang memiliki system tata surya, maupun bintang yang tanpa system tata surya. Salah satu bintang dalam dalam galaksi bimasakti yang memiliki system tata surya adalah bintang matahari. Menurut para ahli astronomi system tata surya kita telah berusia sekitar 4,5 miliar tahun. Sebelumnya terdapat persatuan berbagai macam unsur materi yang terdapat didalam galaksi bimasakti kita, ada ahli yang mengatakan bahwa kumpulan berbagai unsur materi itu berasal dari sisa bintang-bintang lain yang telah meledak, namun ada juga yang mengatakan bahwa dahulu seluruh unsur materi pembentuk tata surya kita memang telah ada pada galaksi bimasakti, hanya saja wujudnya masih berupa gas.

Bagi segala sesuatu yang dipisahkan, apakah mereka terdiri atas dua atau lebih, sudah tentu, SEBELUM DIPISAHKAN mereka dalam keadaan BERSATU. Karena mereka berbeda, makanya harus DIPISAHKAN. Demikian juga dengan kasus dari bahan-bahan pembentuk tata surya kita ini, bahwa mereka juga mengalami PEMISAHAN. Teori para ahli astronomi yang menyatakan bahwa seluruh bahan pembentukkan tata surya kita yang dahulu masih berbentuk gas, sepertinya sangat tepat dengan Kejadian 1:5 ini, kenapa?

Bahan pembentukkan tata surya kita yang berwujud gas itu, suatu saat tiba-tiba berputar (berotasi) pada porosnya. Perpuatar tersebut, lama-kelamaan menyebabkan bahan-bahan tersebut secara perlahan mendingin. Akibatnya proses pendinginan dan perputaran tersebut mengakibatkan sebagian materi terlempar dari induknya. Bagian yang berat yang terlempar ini memiliki bahan yang berbeda dari bahan / materi induknya, yang mana mereka tersusun atas materi berat yang dapat memadat karena pendinginan. Terlemparnya bagian-bagian yang berat inilah yang disebut PROSES PEMISAHAN dari bahan pembentuk tata surya kita. namun demikian, materi yang agak berat yang terlempar tadi tidak terlempar menjauhi induknya, ini dikarenakan gaya sentrifugal langsung bekerja pada mereka. Bagian yang terlempar tadi juga berputar pada porosnya (berotasi), karena proses pendinginan lama-kelamaan bagian ini menjadi padat, mereka inilah yang menjadi planet-planet dan satelit-satelit dalam tata surya kita. Mereka ini tidak dapat menghasilkan cahaya, karena itu, mereka adalah bagian yang disebut GELAP. Sementara induknya yang juga berotasi itu, merupakan kumpulan gas dalam jumlah yang sangat besar, lama-kelamaan menimbulkan cahaya, inilah yang disebut matahari, karena induknya (matahari) ini dapat menghasilkan cahaya sendiri, maka matahari itulah yang disebut TERANG itu. Bagian yang TERANG ini disebut SIANG dikarenakan kemampuannya memberikan Cahaya terang kepada segala benda yang ada didekatnya, sementara bagian yang GELAP disebut MALAM dikarenakan situasi dan kondisinya yang tetap mengalami MALAM HARI jika tanpa Cahaya dari TERANG (MATAHARI). Jadi sebagai kesimpulan ungkapan kiasan yang berbentuk BAHASA FENOMENAL pada kata TERANG dan GELAP pada TATA SURYA kita adalah, bahwa:

TERANG adalah PENGHASIL CAHAYA (matahari), dan (Bahasa Fenomenal) GELAP adalah TIDAK DAPAT MENGHASILKAN CAHAYA (Planet, satelit, Asteroid dan lain-lain) (Bahasa Fenomenal)

Terang adalah kondisi dimana manusia bisa melihat, sedangkan gelap adalah kondisi manusia tidak bisa melihat. Bagi orang buta tidak ada yang namanya terang. Bagi Allah tidak ada yang gelap, karena Dia hakekatnya adalah Terang itu sendiri. Di alam semesta Allah menciptakan gelap dengan memisahkan terang dari gelap, yaitu dengan membuat manusia buta terhadap Terang Allah. Supaya alam semesta tidak gelap (dalam arti sebenarnya), Allah menciptakan benda-benda penerang yaitu matahari dan bintang. Terang mempunyai 2 definisi:
1. Terang dalam dimensi Ruang, ada 2 macam:

a. Terang Ciptaan yang berupa gelombang elektromagnetik
Kejadian 1:3 Berfirmanlah Allah: "Jadilah terang." Lalu terang itu jadi.

Orang yang tidak percaya Alkitab mengolok-olok bahwa Alkitab itu salah karena Allah menciptakan terang pada ayat 3, padahal matahari dan bintang sebagai benda-benda penerang baru diciptakan di ayat 14?

Kejadian 1:14 Berfirmanlah Allah: "Jadilah benda-benda penerang pada cakrawala untuk memisahkan siang dari malam. Biarlah benda-benda penerang itu menjadi tanda yang menunjukkan masa-masa yang tetap dan hari-hari dan tahun-tahun,

Jawabnya adalah karena Allah terlebih dulu menciptakan elemen yang tercepat yaitu gelombang elektromagnetik (termasuk terang yang kasat mata), baru kemudian Allah menciptakan benda-benda yang memancarkan terang tersebut.


b. Terang Allah (kemuliaan Allah) yang menerangi Sorga
Di Sorga tidak ada matahari tetapi Allah lah yang menjadi penerang.

Wahyu 21:23 Dan kota itu tidak memerlukan matahari dan bulan untuk menyinarinya, sebab kemuliaan Allah meneranginya dan Anak Domba itu adalah lampunya.

Lawan terang secara ruang adalah gelap secara ruang.

2. Terang rohani yang menerangi kegelapan /kesesatan manusia.

Yohanes 3:19 Dan inilah hukuman itu: Terang telah datang ke dalam dunia, tetapi manusia lebih menyukai kegelapan dari pada terang, sebab perbuatan-perbuatan mereka jahat.

Lawan terang secara rohani (kebenaran) adalah gelap secara rohani (ketidak benaran).

Bagaimana Allah “menciptakan” GELAP? Yaitu dengan memisahkan terang dari gelap, yaitu dengan membuat mata manusia BUTA terhadap terang yang dari Allah karena Allah adalah MAHA HADIR, maka tentu seharusnya tidak ada TEMPAT yang GELAP bukan? Tetapi GELAP itu ada karena kita BUTA terhadap kemuliaan Allah ! Supaya di alam semesta manusia bisa melihat di dalam GELAP, maka Allah menciptakan benda-benda penerang yaitu bintang dan matahari.

Alam semesta dipenuhi oleh malaikat, Lucifer dan pengikutnya juga dilempar ke bumi! Tetapi kita tida bisa melihat mereka karena kita buta terhadap mereka!

Bagaimanakah Allah menciptakan Neraka? Bukankah Allah Maha Hadir? Allah selalu ada di Sorga dan Allah juga selalu ada di Neraka bukan? Karena kasih lah Allah menciptakan Neraka, manusia yang berdosa tidak akan tahan melihat Allah yang KUDUS, manusia berdosa akan tersiksa bila dapat melihat Allah yang kudus yang Maha Hadir & ada dimana-mana, itulah sebabnya mata manusia berdosa dibutakan Allah, supaya manusia berdosa tidak dapat melihat Allah!

Sorga bukanlah tempat kediaman Allah! Sebaliknya Sorgalah yang ada di dalam Allah, bahkan neraka pun ada di dalam Allah, tidak ada tempat yang lebih besar dari Allah sehingga Dia bisa tinggal di dalamnya, faktanya segala sesuatu ada di dalam Dia. Bila kita memang ada di dalam Dia yang adalah TERANG itu, kenapa GELAP itu bisa ada? Ya, karena kita buta terhadap Terang Allah. Bila saat nya tiba, di Sorga kita akan melihat Dia, muka dengan muka, di dalam terang Nya yang ajaib!

Science is the opposite of religion. Right? No! Wrong! Religion is always trying to infiltrate into religion. Sometimes it succeeds. For instance, in the Big Bang theory.

Today it is almost unanimous among the orthodox astronomers and astrophysics that the world was created some 12 billions ago from a magnificent explosion of a primodial atom. In a few seconds, as the theory goes, all the universe was created from this primordial explosion. From the energy of this fantastic explosion all matter has been created, according to Einstein's theory that matter is energy and vice-versa. Even space and time have been created by this explosion.

There are some astronomers, as Fred Hoyle, Thomas Gold and Herman Bondi, that don't accept the Big Bang theory. They rather believe in a steady-state universe. Regretfully they are the losers in the academic establishment.

To some nonbelievers, like me, the Big Bang theory seems just a disguised version of the Bible creation, when Jehovah said "Fiat Lux", and the universe was created. So far as I am concerned, in spite of the beautiful mathematical formulas of the scholars, I can't accept that this indescribably immense universe has been originated from a single atom (or from a fireball the size of a baseball), all of a sudden, out of nothing. I would rather believe in Santa Claus.

How did such strange idea infiltrate into science? Science began some centuries before Christ, in Classical Greece, when some brilliant minds began to analyse the world free from the shackles of religion. Pitagoras discovered that mathematics rule the world. Leucippus and Democritus figured out that all matter is made of atoms. Hippocrates and Galen robbed Medicine from the priests. Aristaco de Samos found out that the Earth revolves around the Sun and not otherwise. Another Greek scholar measured the distance from the Earth to the Moon and missed by only 200 kilometers. Socrates, Plato and Aristotle abandoned the fables of Greek Mythology in favor of secular Philosophy.

Unfortunately this wonderful beginning was checked by the wide acceptance of the Christian cosmology based in the Bible. Europe remained in the intellectual darkness of Christendom for more than a millennium. The world was only to be awakened by the study of the pagan Greek classics (Renaissance and Humanism).

During more than a millennium the Roman Church has been accustomed to being owner of the truth. The Bible and the pope were declared infallible and those who dared to disagree were considered heretics and condemned to terrible tortures before being sent to the stake. This happened, among thousands, to Giordano Bruno, in the year 1600.

The Church didn't like when, after the Renaissance and after the religious liberty provided by the Protestant revolution, science exploded, explaining all the phenomena of nature without the help of the Bible, not to say of a god. Much to the contrary! Among dozens of discoveries that defied the authority of the Bible, Copernicus and Galileo dethroned the Earth from the center of the universe and Darwin showed that there are not fixed species and that man, instead of being a replica of God, is just a sophisticated ape.

It has not been comfortable for the Catholic Church to lose her authority as a source of truth. The Church never accepted being relegated to a second position. The Roman Church, under the guidance of Pope Pius XI, decided that she could no longer remain away from the debate of the origin of the universe. After all, she had the age-old cosmology of the Genesis to defend.

In the 20's a conference on Cosmology was held in the Vatican, in the Pontificia Academia de Scienza di Roma. The intention was that the Vatican should have a word in the academic establishment on scientific matters. The pope Pius XI decided that the Church had also to make science within the Vatican. Georges Lemaître, a monk with a great knowledge on theology and mathematics, was designated to study Einstein's and other scientist's ideas, with the explicit intention of selling the Roman Church's cosmology.

In 1927 Lemaître, inspired by the Bible's cosmology, developed a theory that the universe began from an explosion of a "primordial atom" (whatever it is). George Gamow follow suit developing the idea that all the constituents of the universe have been created in the first few minutes after the big bang, and Alan Guth, from Cornell University, authored the inflation theory of the Universe, according to which "the entire universe is supposed to have grown from an almost infinitesimal bubble of space, only one trillionth the size of a proton" (apud Herbert Friedman, "The Astronomer's Universe", 1998). Certainly both scientists swallowed Lemaître's bait and gave scientific credibility to the Bible version by elaborating on the beginning of the universe through a primordial explosion.

Hawking also helped to advance the Bible's Cosmology with his "singularity" theory. In 1975 he was rewarded by the pope with a medal.

Another scientist that swallowed Lemaître's bait was Bernard Lovell who, innocently, concluded that the creation of matter, in the big bang, could only be effective by the power of an external factor, god himself! He failed to explain how god was created.

Einstein was decidedly against the idea of the Big Bang. His equations have concluded that the universe had to be either in expansion or in contraction, but he didn't believe his own equations, because he was a supporter of a stable vision of the cosmos. He created a "cosmological constant" (a counter-gravity force) not to abandon his equations. Later he abandoned this theory.

The impasse between the Big Bang and the steady-state theory was broken when Hubble found out that the universe is in expansion. Einstein was shocked by the expanding universe demonstrated by the findings of Edwin Hubble. Lemaître saw this as a great opportunity and rushed to California. In the early 1930s, as reported by Timothy Ferris (The Whole Shebang, 1997), in a lecture in the library of Mt. Wilson observatory offices, Lemaître declared solemnly to an audience which included Einstein: "In the beginning of everything we had fireworks of unimaginable beauty. Then there was the explosion followed by the filling of heavens with smoke. We come to late to do more than to visualize the splendor of creation's' birthday." Not even Moses would be so eloquent. Lemaître's oratory was so brilliant that even Einstein became convinced by this new version of the biblical cosmology.

Unbelievingly, after resisting for a long time, Einstein, and most of the scientific establishment, capitulated to the idea of the Big Bang by the influence of no less than a monk: George Lemaître.

This Catholic monk succeeded in infiltrating into the secular science the preposterous idea of a Biblical universe being created out of nothing. By who? By God, naturally! Congratulations to Abée Lemaître. Once more religion defeated science. Not for long, we hope!

Finally, a quotation from Joseph Silk (COSMIC ENIGMAS, 1994): "In many respects, the Big Bang is to modern cosmology what mythology was to the ancients. To believe that we understand the very early Universe, the first microseconds of cosmic time, requires immense faith in the physicist's search for the ultimate union of fundamental forces of nature, because direct evidence is completely lacking."

The very essence of the big bang theory is "FAITH", that is, religion!

The Big Bang Theory--A Biblical Critique

Cosmology—the study of the cosmos—certainly is not inherently wrong. And, for that matter, science itself by no means implies antagonism toward God. However, it is what we humans have done with our “scientific” pursuits and our cosmological egos that has sent us into a digression from our Creator.

The Big Bang Theory has been desperately hanging on, trying to cling to its status as a set of hypotheses for the origin of the cosmos. We say “hypotheses” because, as surely is evident by now, the Big Bang Theory is not just one theory, but instead represents an entire history of speculations by its proponents. No matter what name is in vogue—standard, oscillating, inflationary, etc.—we should, as Hoyle and Wickramasinghe urged, “be suspicious of a theory if more and more hypotheses are needed to support it” (1981, p. 135). It seems that most of the time, the evolutionists’ theories have come as an insurgence—bursting quickly onto the scene, and then quietly fading away. Why, then, has the Big Bang Theory been able to hold on to its grasp through so heavy a tempest of criticism? In her book on the Big Bang Theory, Karen Fox’s admission speaks volumes.

There’s no doubt that the big bang theory is accepted so universally because it is taught essentially as fact. We’ve all learned the earth is round, and few ever think to try to prove that detail for ourselves. When the same science teacher tells you the universe began with a bang, most people accept it as readily. The majority of the world population that accepts the big bang theory does so unquestioningly (2002, p. 119).
The ultimate question in the mind of a Christian should be: “Can I, as a faithful child of God, accept, defend, and advocate the Big Bang theory?” To be sure, there are those who would answer such a question in the affirmative. Several prominent examples come to mind.

“PROGRESSIVE CREATIONISTS” WEIGH IN
ON SUPPORT FOR THE BIG BANG THEORY

Hugh N. Ross is the founder and president of Reasons to Believe, a non-profit work devoted to Bible-science issues. Ross received his Ph.D. in astronomy from the University of Toronto, and served for a time as a minister at the Congregational Church in Sierra Madre, California. He is a prolific writer, whose book, The Fingerprint of God, made the Christian Booksellers Association’s list of best-selling paperbacks. Ross also is an accomplished speaker and television personality (who was featured on the front cover of the June 2003 issue of Charisma magazine as the “science guy”).

More important, however, is the fact that, currently, Dr. Ross is the leading, most eloquent, and most visible spokesman for the doctrine known as “progressive creationism.” According to most of its proponents, progressive creationism is opposed to atheistic evolution, but also is opposed to a literal, historical interpretation of the Genesis record of creation. Ross himself has defined progressive creationism as “the hypothesis that God has increased the complexity of life on earth by successive creations of new forms over billions of years while miraculously changing the earth to accommodate the new life” (1990a).

Ross accepts and promotes, among numerous other false ideas: (1) the Big Bang view of the origin of the Universe; (2) an ancient, multi-billion-year-old Earth and Universe; (3) the Day-Age Theory, which suggests that the days of Genesis 1 were actually millions or billions of years each, rather than 24-hours in duration; (4) a local Noahic flood, rather than a global inundation; and (5) the integrity of the evolutionary geologic column in regard to its stipulations that life flowed from simple to complex (see Ross, 1989; 1990a; 1990b; 1990-1991; 1993; 1994; Van Bebber and Taylor, 1996). Incredibly, Dr. Ross actually suggests that his views are based on a literal interpretation of the Bible. Thus, when many Bible believers hear him stress that he accepts the literal nature of the biblical record, their guard is down and they are less likely to detect the serious nature of the numerous errors he advocates.

[We believe it is vitally important that people see where positions like Ross’ eventually lead. In his book, The Fingerprint of God (which is an overt apologetic for progressive creationism), Ross discussed the Old Testament character, Job, who, he suggested, “without the aid of scriptures, and in opposition to the religion of his peers, discerned all the elements of ‘the gospel,’ the good news of how man can find eternal life in God. The creation, thus, reveals all the necessary steps to develop a right relationship with God” (1989, pp. 181-182, italics in orig., emp. added). According to Ross, then, God’s revelation in nature supersedes His revelation in Scripture. Whenever there is an apparent conflict, natural revelation assumes a position of preeminence—since, after all, it is based on empirical evidence. In essence, then, man no longer needs God’s special revelation from within the Scriptures to instruct him on something as important as the plan of salvation, since the creation “reveals all the necessary steps to develop a right relationship with God.” According to this view, the verdict of “science” is allowed to sit in judgment on the Scriptures. For an extensive examination and refutation of this inaccurate dichotomy, see Thompson, 2000, pp. 90-98.]

Dr. Ross’ defense of the Big Bang has been both extremely public and extremely vehement. He claims that the Big Bang occurred 17 billion years ago (plus or minus 3 billion years). And, he asserts that the Big Bang has been “undeniably” proven (see: Ross, 1989, pp. 158-159; 1990-1991; 1994, pp. 91-118,129).

Hugh Ross, however, is not the only religionist defending the Big Bang. John N. Clayton is a high school teacher from South Bend, Indiana, who is trained in geology. Clayton presents a seminar, Does God Exist?, around the country, and publishes a small, bi-monthly journal by the same name. He, too, accepts and promotes (among other things) the Big Bang view of the origin of the Universe, an ancient, multi-billion-year-old Earth and Universe, and the integrity of the evolutionary geologic column in regard to its stipulations that life flowed from simple to complex. [Clayton, in fact, is the sole architect of a concept known as the “Modified Gap Theory,” which attempts to insert vast amounts of time in between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, but without any Gap Theory destruction; see Thompson, 1977, pp. 177-194; Jackson and Thompson, 1992, pp. 11-120; Thompson, 2000, pp. 282-296).] Oddly, he, too, suggests that each of his views is based on a strict, literal interpretation of the Bible. In speaking about the fact that Christians definitely can accept the Big Bang Theory, he wrote in the September/October 1999 issue of his Does God Exist? journal: “We have tried over and over again to point out to readers that the big bang theory is not at odds with the Bible nor with the concept of God as Creator” (26[5]:12b, emp. added). Clayton has indeed tried “over and over again” to get people to accept the Big Bang. Almost a decade earlier, he had argued strenuously for the validity of a Big Bang-type concept, suggesting that scientists can accurately “theorize back to 10-43 seconds” (1991, 18[1]:8).

[Again, it is vitally important to understand exactly where positions like Clayton’s ultimately lead. In the October 1976 issue of Does God Exist?, Clayton penned an article titled “ ‘Flat Earth’ Bible Study Techniques,” which was a scathing rebuke of any and all Christians who dared to accept the Genesis account of Creation at face value. In that article, he declared that any view which holds that Exodus 20:11 is referring to a literal six-day creation is “a very shallow conclusion” that is “inconsistent with the Genesis record as well as with other parts of the Bible” (1976a, p. 5). Clayton even went so far as to suggest that if a person actually believes Exodus 20:11 means what it says—i.e., that God created the heavens, the Earth, and all that is in them in six days—such would be comparable to believing in the false, antiquated concept of a flat Earth! We do not believe it was coincidental, then, that the same year Clayton authored the above-mentioned article, he wrote in his book, The Source: “I do not contend that it can be conclusively proven to 20th Century Americans that the Bible is inspired...” (1976b, p. 89, emp. added; he also made the same statement in the 1978 edition, p. 79). Once more, the verdict of “science” has been allowed to sit in judgment on the Bible. Is any additional proof needed to document where the compromise of progressive creationism finally leads? Hardly—but read on nevertheless.]

John Polkinghorne is a British theoretical physicist, former Master of Queen’s College at Cambridge, and an ordained minister in the Church of England. He is also, as Larry Witham noted in his book, Where Darwin Meets the Bible, “the only cleric in the Royal Society, the elite association of scientists” (2002, p. 47). There is a reason for the fact that he has been welcomed by such a prestigious body of scientists: his scientific views take precedence over his religious beliefs. As he put it: “So I believe in a form of theistic evolution” (as quoted in Witham, p. 47). In his 1986 volume, One World: The Interaction of Science and Theology, he wrote: “The claims that the universe originated in the big bang and that God made the world are clearly not in direct conflict.... Thus for me and many other scientists of Christian conviction it is God and the big bang” (pp. 65,66, emp. in orig.). [Once more, it is interesting to see where such an attitude leads. Less than ten pages later in his book, Polkinghorne wrote:

As far as Christianity is concerned two things need to be said. The first is that the Christian is not committed to believe in the literal truth of every miraculous event recorded in the Bible. An understanding of the role of myth and legend enables us to accept some stories as just that, pictorially valuable but not historically accurate (p. 74, emp. added).
Our point is this: the person who unhesitatingly compromises Genesis 1-11, likewise will not hesitate to compromise the remainder of the Bible.]

Numerous additional examples could be offered as well. Gerald L. Schroeder, an MIT-trained Israeli nuclear physicist, authored a book titled Genesis and the Big Bang, in which he contended that there is no contradiction between the biblical account of creation and the Big Bang Theory (1990; see also Ostling, 1992, pp. 42-43). In 1988, J.D. Thomas, former chairman of the Bible department at Abilene Christian University, edited a book titled Evolution and Faith. Documented evidence had been published which proved that two professors in ACU’s biology department had been teaching evolution as fact (see Thompson, 1986). In an effort to stem the tide of criticism that resulted from the publication of that evidence, the University’s administration suggested that various professors and board members needed to write a book to “set the record straight.” It quickly became apparent, however, that the book failed miserably in its attempts to exonerate the University, because its contents established all the more firmly the charges that had been proferred against its professors. [After reading the book, the reaction of many people was, to echo the words of Eliphaz, “Thine own mouth condemneth thee” (Job 15:6).]

One entire chapter of the book (by physicist Michael E. Sadler) was dedicated to the proposition that “experimental evidence indicates that we live in a universe that was created over 10 billion years ago, after which the heavier elements were formed. The age of our solar system is about 4-5 billion years.” Dr. Sadler concluded:

The Bible does not say how old the earth is, much less the solar system or the universe. To judge as heretics all those who believe that the present universe has evolved from a big bang is unfair, and creates controversy over something that is certainly not a central part of Christianity (1988, p. 93, emp. added).
In the next chapter of the book, ACU board member and California university professor Joe T. Ator told the reader not to place “unnecessarily restrictive” limitations on Genesis 1. It came as no great surprise, then, to see him elaborate on this by suggesting that the “days” of Genesis 1 were not really “days” at all, but rather were long ages of time (1988, pp. 96-97), from which he concluded: “The data just reviewed has [sic] driven scientists to the conclusion that the universe must have an age between fifteen and twenty billion years” (p. 105). His entire chapter was dedicated to the concept that “one should not ‘force fit’ his or her own ideas into the brief, beautiful, pristine creation account in Genesis” (p. 115), and then he proceeded to do exactly that, ignoring plain biblical evidence which refuted the erroneous concepts he presented. Ator argued for the scientific accuracy of the Big Bang, not just in this 1988 book, but also in one that he penned a decade later (see Ator, 1998, pp. 62-86).

Four years after ACU released Evolution and Faith, Arlie Hoover (an ACU professor) argued in a similar fashion in an article he wrote for the Gospel Advocate titled “God and the Big Bang.”

It is entirely possible, though not at all firmly established, that God used a big bang as His method of creation. You cannot affirm it as a certainty, but neither can you deny it apodictically. Because the Bible does not specify how God did it, we are left to choose the hypothesis that seems to have the best supporting material.... [N]othing in the biblical doctrine excludes the big bang (1992, 134[9]:34-35).
The issue under discussion here is whether a Christian can accept evolutionary offshoots like the Big Bang. But that is not how compromisers like Ross, Clayton, Sadler, Ator, and Hoover want people to see it. In fact, as Ator lamented:

It should be remembered that the astronomical evidence strongly indicating that the universe had a beginning point and has existed for billions of years neither confirms nor contradicts those brief statements in Genesis about the sequence and identity of created life forms.... The Big Bang theory should be viewed as a totally separate concept from the theory of organic evolution (1988, pp. 112,103, emp. added).
Odd, is it not, how Christians frequently fail to see what non-Christians see so clearly. As Jesus Himself said: “The sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light” (Luke 16:8). So true—and so sad! The late, eminent evolutionist of the Rockefeller University, geneticist Theodosius Dobzhansky, admitted:

Evolution comprises all the states of development of the universe; the cosmic, biological, and human or cultural developments. Attempts to restrict the concept of evolution to biology are gratuitous. Life is a product of the evolution of inorganic matter, and man is a product of the evolution of life (1967, 155:409, emp. added).
It simply will not do to assert, as Ator did, that “the Big Bang theory should be viewed as a totally separate concept from the theory of organic evolution.” The Big Bang Theory is as much a part of its evolutionary heritage as the idea of men evolving from ape-like ancestors. Denying that fact does not make it go away, as Dobzhansky so eloquently pointed out.

The truth is, while most Christians never would openly consider accepting evolutionists’ teachings, people like Ross, Clayton, Sadler, Ator, and Hoover offer smoothly worded compromises that seemingly allow Christians to believe in both God and evolutionary theory. In the face of what many believe is “overwhelming scientific evidence,” and not wanting to offend either their religious friends on the one hand, or evolutionists on the other, many Christians have bought into concepts and theories that try to “marry” the two. The situation is worsened by the fact that some (like the men mentioned above) are quick to point out that belief in various aspects of evolution should pose no problem for a Christian. In the epilogue of his book, Can a Darwinian be a Christian?, philosopher Michael Ruse asked: “Can a Darwinian be a Christian? Absolutely! Is it always easy for a Darwinian to be a Christian? No, but whoever said that the worthwhile things in life are easy?” (2001, p. 217).

Of course, there always have been those, like Ruse, Ross, Polkinghorne, Schroeder, and Clayton (who even goes so far as to present a lecture titled “Evolution’s Proof of God”), who assert that belief in both creation and evolution is possible because, they say, certain Christians are living proof of exactly that—people who do believe in both. “Can’t we be Christian evolutionists?,” they ask.

In his 2002 book, Where Darwin Meets the Bible: Creationists and Evolutionists in America, Larry Witham (who is a reporter and senior writer for the national desk of The Washington Times) told of an interview he conducted with Duncan Porter, a botany professor at Virginia Technological University. As Witham explained, since Porter’s arrival at Virginia Tech in 1975, he has attended the Episcopal Church (even though he was reared as a Methodist, and professed to being an agnostic during most of his professional career). Porter now claims, however: “In fact, I am a Christian, and I am an evolutionist” (as quoted in Witham, p. 13). But saying it is so does not make it so! In his book, King of Creation, Henry Morris dealt with this very issue:

Yes, no doubt it is possible to be a Christian and an evolutionist. Likewise, one can be a Christian thief, or a Christian adulterer, or a Christian liar! Christians can be inconsistent and illogical about many things, but that doesn’t make them right! (1980, pp. 83-84).
The question for a person who accepts the Bible as the inspired Word of God is not whether he can hold to a belief that incorporates evolutionary theory, but, rather, whether he can do so and remain logically consistent, without impugning the Bible or its Author. Or, to put it another way: “Is it right?”

Our answer to such a question is a resounding, “No, it is not right!” Faithful Christians cannot believe in, advocate, and defend the Big Bang Theory. Astronomer Paul Steidl commented:

No astronomers would ever think of the big bang as the creation event of Genesis. The big bang was invented specifically for the purpose of doing away with the creation event. An astronomer would laugh at the naïveté of anyone who chose to equate the two events (1979, p. 197).
Indeed, evolutionary astronomers have been laughing. Anyone who takes the time to surf the Internet and view the comments from those within the evolutionary camp about the suggested compromises of people like Hugh Ross, John Clayton, and others, will see very quickly how true Steidl’s comments are.

Evolutionist Paul Davies, in a discussion of the Big Bang, stated that this theory of origins “differs greatly in detail from the biblical version.” He then quoted Ernan McMullin of Notre Dame University: “What one cannot say is, first, that the Christian doctrine of creation ‘supports’ the Big Bang model, or second, that the Big Bang model ‘supports’ the doctrine of creation” (1983, pp. 17,20, emp. added).

Why, then, do some religionists accept this theory (a horribly weak one at that), which was developed with the explicit intent of explaining away the biblical record? Likely, there are several reasons, but surely, counted among them would be these. First, we suspect that many believe in the Big Bang because, as Karen Fox pointed out, it is taught almost everywhere as fact. Some poor souls have been intimidated by the constant harangue that flows freely from those within the scientific community, suggesting that the evidence supporting the Big Bang Theory is so strong that no one with an ounce of common sense would deny it. Second, no doubt some Christians accept the Big Bang Theory unquestioningly because they have not given careful and sustained consideration to the paucity of evidence upon which it is based; nor have they given due consideration to the consequences of believing in such a theory. The apostle Paul warned of blindly accepting a dogma, when he exhorted the Thessalonian Christians to “prove all things; hold fast that which is good; abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). With that in mind, we would like to present the following information for your consideration.

THE PROCESS OF CREATION HAS BEEN SET
—BY GOD HIMSELF

The argument frequently is made that by rejecting evolutionary concepts (such as the Big Bang Theory), Christians are limiting the omnipotence of God. Jehovah’s incredible power is plainly evident as a result of His creation (Romans 1:20-21). But it is equally as evident in the infallible nature of His Word. When the Bible speaks, its authority is without reproach, and what God establishes is to be followed. By following God’s Word, Christians are not limiting Him, but instead are relying on what He has said (cf. Proverbs 1:7; John 12:48; 1 Corinthians 1:18-21).

The principle—that we are not to change God’s Word—runs throughout both the Old and New Testaments. The psalmist wrote: “The sum of thy word is truth; And every one of thy righteous ordinances endureth for ever” (119:160). Through inspiration, the apostle Peter provided the reason for following the Bible exclusively: “His divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3). There is no need to change or adapt God’s Word; the creative process for our origin has been set—by God Himself. Consider, as proof of that, the following.

(1) Creation was accomplished through divine fiat, not by a “chaotic explosion.” God’s design, and method, of creation are evident: “By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth” (Psalm 33:6). God spoke, and by His utterance, creation occurred. Nowhere in the Genesis account (nor anywhere else in Scripture, for that matter) is reference ever made to some sort of “primeval explosion.” When God commanded the creation of the Sun, Moon, and stars on day four, the event did not require billions of years, but was completely finished that very day. In fact, the whole of creation was brought into existence by God’s command, as evinced by His words recorded in Genesis 1:

And God said, “Let there be light.... Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters...let the dry land appear.... Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit-trees.... Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven. ...Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures.... Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind. ...Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...” (vss. 3,6,9,11,14,20,24, 26).
God’s immediate creation of a veritable plethora of living forms represents an obvious and serious contradiction to the Big Bang Theory, which demands an enormous and intense explosion of matter, followed by eons of “evolutionary tinkering” required to produce and perfect nature’s varied life forms. Creation by fiat also opposes the viewpoint of theistic evolutionists and progressive creationists, both of whom assert that the commencement of creation was merely an “initial act” by God, subsequently followed by a “policy of non-interference” that allowed for a fully naturalistic progression to occur from that point on. The fact is, the two opposing views—the Big Bang Theory and the biblical account of Creation—cannot both be accepted. The one postulates primeval chaos and disorder, billions of years, and random processes. The other speaks of purpose and order, instantaneous creation, intention, and intricate design. The Big Bang Theory and the Genesis account of Creation thus are diametrically opposed and mutually exclusive. Christ Himself warned: “No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24; cf. 1 Kings 18:21).

(2) The Bible and evolutionary theories paint very different pictures of the creative process. In the Big Bang scenario, there was an explosive beginning, which was marked by the slow and gradual collection of matter that eventually formed the stars, Sun, Moon, Earth, etc. Furthermore, the Big Bang teaches that the Sun was formed long before the Earth, which makes the Earth a relative newcomer to the solar system, compared to the Sun.

In contrast to such a concept, we read in Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” The word “heavens,” as used here, however, does not include the formation of the Sun, Moon or stars, as is made clear by other portions of the Creation account. In Scripture, there are three particular applications for the term “heavens.” There are the heavens of God’s own dwelling place (Hebrews 9:24), the atmospheric heavens immediately above the Earth (Jeremiah 4:25), and the sidereal heavens in outer space (Isaiah 13:10). From the context, the first two of the three applications can be ruled out. God obviously is not referring to the creation of His own abode. Nor is Genesis 1:1 speaking of the atmospheric heavens, because Genesis 1:6ff. informs us that they were created later, on day two. As George Pember correctly noted: “The heaven mentioned in the first verse of Genesis is the starry heaven, not the firmament immediately surrounding our earth” (1876, p. 30).

The Bible thus teaches that the Earth and the sidereal heavens (minus the heavenly bodies that now reside in them) were created first , while the Sun, Moon, and stars were created later on the fourth day of Creation (Genesis 1:1,14-16). This quite obviously places the Sun’s creation after that of the Earth, while, once again, the Big Bang Theory advocates exactly the opposite. Those who are sympathetic to evolutionary cosmology purport that God was the Initiator of the Big Bang, but then allowed the creation of celestial and terrestrial objects to follow their “naturalistic” course. But again we ask: Is this what the Bible says? Hardly. The Bible designates both the design and the order of Creation (Genesis 1 and 2)—neither of which correlates with the Big Bang Theory. And that brings us to our next point.

(3) Even a small child recognizes the difference between fire and water. When the initial, infinitely small singularity of the Big Bang erupted, it allegedly sent a primeval fireball hurtling outward through space. Estimated to be at a temperature of 1032 degrees Celsius, the fireball expanded, slowly cooled, and eventually coalesced into the planet Earth. How, exactly, does this compare with the biblical account? Genesis 1:1-2 records that the Earth, from the moment of its creation, was enshrouded with water. Is there any difference between a beginning in fire and a beginning in water? If so, then there also is a difference between the origin that the Big Bang offers and the origin that the Bible presents.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING

Evolutionists regularly refer to time as “the hero of the plot” (Wald, 1979, p. 294). With the passage of time, they suggest, the probability for naturalistic processes increases. The second law of thermodynamics states that as time passes, entropy increases. Entropy is simply a measure of disorder, which does not fit the increasing complexity and structural progress required by the Big Bang (or any other evolutionary theory). Time is not the hero of the plot, but the antagonist. When comparing Scripture to science, the time element involved is extremely important. If a concept—any concept—finds itself at odds with God’s inspired Word, then one of them must change. But the Scriptures are not subject to change (Psalm 119:160; Matthew 24:35).

(1) God spoke plainly about how the Cosmos—the Universe and its array of complex systems—came into existence during the six days of the Creation week (Genesis 1; Exodus 20:11). But, in an effort to reconcile the Bible with evolutionary cosmogonies, a number of arguments have been set forth. Certain theistic evolutionists and progressive creationists, for example, have argued that the Creation events are not necessarily in chronological order (see Willis, 1979, p. 92). Clearly, however, the creation acts are recorded in a chronological order, because God specifically said that “there was evening and there was morning, the ___ day” (Genesis 1:5,8,13, et al.). He also sequentially numbered the days, thereby showing His ordered precision. In short, each day was finalized as having an evening and a morning, was designated a place in the sequence by its number, and was pronounced “good” by God Himself. Who are we to take the events, or the days on which they occurred, out of the order in which they have been divinely placed, in an attempt to accommodate the pseudoscientific theories of our age?

Some theistic evolutionists and progressive creationists have opted to defend what is known as the Day-Age Theory, which suggests that the “days” of Genesis 1 were not literal days, but instead were ages or eons, each of which was billions of years in duration (see Clayton, n.d.; 1976b, pp. 116,146-147; 1978, p. 6; Ross, 1994, pp. 45-90; Woods, 2001, p. 490). According to the Bible, God created the heavens, the Earth, and all that is in them in six days, and then rested on the seventh. This also served as an example for the Jewish workweek: “Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath unto Jehovah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work” (Exodus 20:9-10). The Jews understood the parallelism being made with the Creation week. Thus, they understood, and correctly made the application, that when God spoke of six days in which to work, He meant six literal 24-hour days. No rational Jew believed that God was instructing them to work for billions of years, after which they would rest on the Sabbath for an indefinite time. According to this line of thinking, the Jews would be incapable of ever fulfilling God’s commandment to “keep” and “observe the Sabbath” (Exodus 31:16). However, the Big Bang makes the days of creation null and void by taking away their logical meaning. Those who hold to some variation of the Big Bang Theory must distort the biblical time frame in order to make room for evolution’s vastly divergent timeline. The Israelites correctly understood the context, and thus made proper application, of God’s commandments. A simple adherence to the principles of biblical learning can solve this current problem: “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning” (Romans 15:4).

At the close of each day, God used the descriptive phrase, “there was evening and there was morning.” Why did He use this exact terminology? If these were simply indefinite periods of geologic time, then what is the significance of having “an evening and a morning”? God, in employing this phrase, was emphasizing the literal, chronological nature of what He was doing. Once again, the Jews provide an example that proves the importance of timing. The Jewish day was measured as an evening and a morning. For them, the day began at sunset (approximately six o’clock), continued through evening and morning, and concluded at six o’clock the following day. The Jews not only used God’s example to define their week, but also their day as well. Big Bang proponents have garbled the understanding of these simple terms, as used by the Creator Himself. The task for the Christian, then, is to focus on these words in the Bible without the nagging influence of evolutionary cosmologists. We must ask ourselves questions such as: What is God saying? How did the Jews make application? And how should we apply it today?

Still others have promoted such concepts as: (a) the Gap Theory (see Thomas, 1961, p. 54; Custance, 1970), which places an immense “gap” of time between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, along with a worldwide destruction allegedly caused by a battle between God and Satan; (b) the Modified Gap Theory (see Clayton, 1976b, pp. 147-148), which proposes the same immense gap of time, yet without a worldwide destruction; or (c) the Multiple Gap Theory (see England, 1972, pp. 110-111), which places an immense gap of time between each successive day of creation. Each of these theories fails the test when compared to the truth contained within God’s Word (for refutations of each, see Thompson, 2000) .

(2) Consistent with the diversity of evolutionary methodology, various theories have their own approximations of the age of the Universe, ranging anywhere from the currently popular figure of 13.7 billion years to an eternal Universe. Evolutionary cosmology purports a slow, gradual progression that is punctuated by lengthy periods of time until conditions become adequate for stellar objects to form. The periods between star formation, planetary formation, and galaxy formation are estimated to range in the billions of years. In any of these scenarios, the Earth allegedly formed 4 to 5 billion years ago, with man arriving on the scene much later, at somewhere between 3 and 4 million years ago. Are any of these naturalistically based scenarios consistent with the Bible? No, they are not.

According to Big Bang dogma, a vast period of time (of more than 4 billion years) separated the origin of the Earth from that of mankind. Yet the Scriptures teach that everything was created within the six days of the Creation week, as first recorded in Genesis 1-2, and later reaffirmed by Exodus 20:11 and Exodus 31:17. The Scriptures also affirm that the human family came into existence the same week as the Universe (Genesis 1; Exodus 20:11; 31:17). Thus, the point is made quite clearly that the Cosmos, the Earth, and all of the Creation were brought into existence during the same week. Man therefore has existed from the beginning of the Creation (cf. Isaiah 40:21; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6; Luke 11:50; Romans 1:20-21). It was on the sixth day of Creation, in fact, that God made man and woman. “And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.’ ...And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:26-27). Jesus Himself declared: “...from the beginning of the creation, male and female made he them” (Mark 10:6, emp. added). As God’s Son, and the Creative Agent through which such events were accomplished (cf. John 1:1ff.; Colossians 1:16), He should know!

Christ thus dated the first humans from the Creation week. The Greek word for “beginning” is arché, and is used of “absolute, denoting the beginning of the world and of its history, the beginning of creation.” The Greek word for “creation” is ktiseos, which denotes “the sum-total of what God has created” (Cremer, 1962, pp. 113,114,381, emp. in orig.). Bloomfield noted that “creation” in Mark 10:6 “signifies ‘the things created,’ the world or universe” (1837, 1:197-198). Furthermore, Paul affirmed the following:

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse (Romans 1:20, emp. added).
The apostle declared that from the creation of the world the invisible things of God have been: (a) clearly seen; and (b) perceived. The phrase, “since the creation of the world,” is translated from the Greek, apo ktiseos kosmou. As a preposition, apo is employed “to denote the point from which something begins” (Arndt and Gingrich, 1957, p. 86). The term “world” is from the Greek, kosmos, and refers to “the orderly universe” (Arndt and Gingrich, p. 446). R.C. Trench observed that the kosmos is “the material universe...in which man lives and moves, which exists for him and of which he constitutes the moral centre” (1890, pp. 215-216). The term “perceived” is translated from the Greek noeo, which is used to describe rational, human intelligence. The phrase, “clearly seen” is an intensified form of horao, a word that “gives prominence to the discerning mind” (Thayer, 1962, p. 452). Both “perceived” and “clearly seen” are present tense forms, and as such denote “the continued manifestation of the being and perfections of God, by the works of creation from the beginning” (MacKnight, 1960, 1:187).

Who observed and perceived the things that were made “from the beginning” of the creation? If no human existed on this planet for billions of years (because man is a “relative newcomer to the Earth”—to use John Clayton’s exact words; see Clayton, 1968, p. 2), who was observing—with rational, human intelligence—these phenomena? Paul undoubtedly was teaching that man has existed since the creation of the world, and has possessed the capacity to comprehend the truth regarding the existence of the Creator; accordingly, those who refuse to glorify Him are without excuse (cf. Psalm 14:1; Romans 1:20-21). It likewise is inexcusable for one who professes to believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word to ignore such verses as these—or to twist and wrest them to try to make them say something they never were intended to say—merely to defer instead to evolutionary cosmology (or geology) in an attempt to defend the concept of an ancient Earth. Yet examples of that very thing are all too prevalent, as we have amply documented.

ORDER MATTERS!

The Bible provides a well-ordered chronology for the creation of the Cosmos. However, it is not the same order as that suggested by evolutionists, as the following comparison clearly shows.

(1) Each evolutionary theory, whether it commences in medias res (in the middle of things) or assumes an initial creation from nothing, attests to a creative progression from simple to complex, completely disregarding the second law of thermodynamics. The Big Bang Theory, for example, suggests that the Universe started with a chaotic explosion, which then proceeded toward order. The Bible teaches exactly the opposite. God created the Universe as a beautiful and orderly masterpiece, which has been degenerating toward disorder during the intervening millennia.

In three different places in the Bible (Hebrews 1:11; Isaiah 51:6; Psalm 102:26), the indication is that the Earth, “like a garment, is wearing out.” This, of course, is exactly what the second law of thermodynamics states. This law, also known as the law of increasing entropy, governs all material processes; there is not a single known exception. The law states that as time progresses, entropy increases. Entropy is the scientific word (from a Greek term meaning to “turn in on oneself ”) which indicates that things become more disorderly, more random, more unstructured. Everything is running down and wearing out. Energy is becoming less available for work. Theoretically speaking, the Universe, left to itself, will experience a “heat death” when no more energy is available for use.

(2) In their attempt to circumvent God, certain cosmologists invented the concept of an eternal Universe, to which the Quasi-Steady-State Theory and the Oscillating Big Bang model adhere. For the evolutionists, it was a quick and convenient way to eliminate God. Although the idea of an eternal Universe has been refuted and dismantled scientifically (see Thompson, 1992; 2001; 2002), some scientists are “restructuring” the idea, in hopes of bringing it back into the evolutionary mainstream. But the Bible provides overwhelming testimony to the fact that the Universe is not eternal, and that God cannot be taken out of the equations. When Genesis 1:1 records, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth,” that indicates there was a beginning—brought about by God! Additionally, the promise of Christ’s return (John 14:3), combined with the apostle Peter’s account of the end of the world (2 Peter 3:10), declares God’s intention for an ending. Eternity, by definition, has neither a beginning nor an ending. Thus, with both of these requirements, the Bible negates the eternal existence of the Universe. Within the pages of His inspired Word, God has informed us about His creative activities. For us to exchange His testimony for evolutionary pseudoscience represents a terrible travesty indeed.

CONCLUSION

Science is based on observation and reproducibility. But when pressed for the reproducible, empirical data that document the claim of a self-created Universe, scientists and philosophers alike are at a loss to produce those data. Perhaps this is why Alan Guth lamented: “In the end, I must admit that questions of plausibility are not logically determinable and depend somewhat on intuition” (1988, 11[2]:76)—which is little more than a fancy way of saying, “I certainly wish this were true, but I could not prove it to you to save my life.” To suggest that the Universe created itself is to posit a self-contradictory position. Sproul addressed this when he wrote:

For something to bring itself into being it must have the power of being within itself. It must at least have enough causal power to cause its own being. If it derives its being from some other source, then it clearly would not be either self-existent or self-created. It would be, plainly and simply, an effect. Of course, the problem is complicated by the other necessity we’ve labored so painstakingly to establish: It would have to have the causal power of being before it was. It would have to have the power of being before it had any being with which to exercise that power (1994, p. 180).
The Universe is not eternal or self-created. Rather, it was created—which implies a Creator. That Creator is not the Big Bang, or any permutation of it. John Gribbin summarized our view on this matter when he wrote: “Perhaps cosmologists have been charging up a blind alley for the past quarter of a century, and there never was a big bang at all” (1986, 110[1511]:30). Yes, Dr. Gribbin, they have. And no, there wasn’t.

We always try to bring you cutting-edge research from the world of creation science, so we must tell you about the latest from Answers in Genesis (AIG), one of the major sources of young-earth creationist wisdom. AIG is the online creationist ministry of Ken Ham (ol’ Hambo), the Australian entrepreneur who has become the ayatollah of Appalachia.

Their article is The Big-Bang God or the God of Scripture? It’s rather long and we could comment on virtually every sentence, but that would become tedious. Instead we’ll just give you the highlights, trusting that you’ll click over there to read it all for yourself. Here are some excerpts, with bold font added by us:

Some people have suggested that God (or a god) used a “big bang” to create the universe. The big bang is the secular model of how the universe formed. However, the consistent Christian has no need to speculate on how and when God might have created the universe.

No need to speculate? That’s great! AIG continues:

The Creator himself has left a written record that summarizes His creative acts — a record that contradicts the big-bang model on many points. Sadly, many people are inclined to ignore what God has said about what He did. Instead, they rely on secular philosophy to reconstruct a past that contradicts the recorded history and eyewitness testimony of the Bible.

Secular philosophy? How horrible! Let’s read on:

Can you imagine if people applied such thinking to other fields of study? What if someone rejected recorded history and claimed that World War I never happened because his philosophy does not allow for the possibility of a world war. Would this be reasonable?

Uh, no. That wouldn’t be reasonable. Nor is it even remotely a reasonable comparison. We continue:

These days, it is common for people to reject the possibility of a supernatural, biblical creation simply because they embrace the philosophy of naturalism — the belief that “nature is all that there is.”

Naturalism [the absence of unevidenced miracles] and uniformitarianism [application of the observed unchanging laws of nature] are the driving philosophies behind the big bang. That is, the big-bang model attempts to describe the formation of the entire universe by processes currently operating within the universe. Stars, planets, and galaxies are all said to have formed “naturalistically” — by the laws of nature currently in operation. The expansion of the universe is assumed to be naturalistic and uniformitarian in the big-bang model.

How foolish to rely on silly, non-scriptural stuff like reason and logic, and empiricism, and the scientific method, and Occam’s razor. Buncha balderdash! Here’s more:

The big bang is simply one of many incorrect conclusions derived from secular assumptions. It is not compatible with the Bible. Therefore, Christians should reject it.

Obviously! Moving along:

The big bang accepts the secular order of events, not the biblical order. For example, stars come before the earth in the big bang, but the order is reversed in the Bible. The big bang teaches that the universe is billions of years old, whereas the Bible teaches only thousands of years. The big bang teaches that the first stars formed by natural processes, but the Bible teaches that God made the stars.

The choice is clear. Another excerpt:

Many people don’t realize that the big bang is not only bad theology, but it is bad science as well. Is the big bang the same kind of science that put men on the moon, or allows your computer to function? Not at all. The big bang isn’t testable, repeatable laboratory science.

Wow — they’re right! Scientists can’t duplicate the universe in the lab. On with the article:

It doesn’t make specific predictions that are later confirmed by observation and experimentation.

'hari' jangan diartikan harfiah (24 jam)
